Life is so strange right now that it almost feels like fiction. And that’s got us thinking about the storyline that’s unfolding around us and our collective role in it all.
The story of coworking has always been one of collaboration, community, and growth. And like any good story, it seems that this one includes a plot twist.
Enter: COVID-19.
Suddenly, our story’s protagonists have been faced with an unexpected challenge, one that threatened to jeopardize our professional community.
But challenge is an inevitable part of every story and it demands resolution. So, how will we overcome this one together?
Launch Workplaces’ role in keeping our spaces safe and inspiring
When challenges arise in stories, it takes drastic action in order to resolve them and get things back to normal.
For the Launch Workplaces team, that has involved staying in close contact with experts about the best practices that can be implemented to help us ensure our spaces are safe and able to continue supporting your success.
These practices include:
Enhanced janitorial services
We’ve ramped up our janitorial services to include the use of a combination of cleaners and disinfectants to clean desks, chairs, and offices each and every night.
Added cleaning for high-touch areas
Our cleaning staff will also be conducting increasingly frequent disinfection on a number of high touch surfaces including elevator buttons and door handles.
Increased access to hand sanitizer
You’ll notice throughout our spaces that we’re installed a number of hand sanitizer stations so that it’ll be easy and convenient for you to clean your hands more often.
On-demand detailed disinfection
We’re offering our members the option to request individual detailed proactive disinfections of their spaces. If this is something you might want, please let us know.
Physical changes in our locations
When you come into your Launch Workplaces location, you’ll notice a few physical changes. This includes traffic control measures, such as arrows, stickers, and social distancing reminders, as well as the removal of coworking desks and reduction of seats in conference rooms and kitchens as per CDC guidelines.
Contact tracing protocols
We’re being diligent in incorporating contact tracing processes at our spaces and our having all members sign in each day as a precaution in case of a positive case.
Your role in keeping yourself, our space, and fellow members safe
The most effective way to overcome this challenging chapter in the coworking story is for every member to do their part to keep the space clean and sanitary.
There are a few things that every member can do to help keep themselves and each other safe:
Remember the rule of 72
The best way to keep yourself and your fellow members safe is to maintain a safe physical distance whenever possible. The recommended distance is 72 inches or six feet.
Cover your face
It’s been proven that masks or cloth face coverings are an effective way to slow the spread of the virus. So, we require all members to wear a face-covering while in the hallways, restrooms, elevators, and stairwells of the building as well as while in any community area of the building.
Sanitize common elements when you’re done with them
Every time you use common elements like printers, breakout rooms, and the lunchroom, please be vigilant about sanitizing the space before you leave.
Take care of your own space
Please do your best to keep your own personal space as sanitary as possible at all times. If you’re in search of cleaning and sanitizing supplies, we would be happy to provide them to you, pending availability.
With Launch Workplaces reopening the doors at spaces throughout Maryland, you can expect for things to feel a bit out of the ordinary.
But if we all do our part, we can write a new chapter in our coworking story: one of achieving success together in the face of adversity.
