As you hopefully know, Launch Workplaces has been hosting the Venture Intelligence Training series in our Gaithersburg location for the past several Wednesday mornings, to teach entrepreneurs how to prepare for angel investment. The last seminar is next Wednesday. May 24 was set aside as a possible Pitch Day for businesses to pitch before a panel of angel investors from the Angel Venture Forum and that has now been confirmed.
Even if you have not attended any training seminars, as a Launch Workplaces member you can still be considered for the Pitch Day. If accepted, you can present your business via a private online video chat to the investor panel for about 7 minutes, with another 7 minutes for questions. The panel may give you general feedback about your pitch and business plan, or they may want to invest. These pitches will be given in our Gaithersburg location.
Your application for Pitch Day is due by Noon on Monday, May 15. To apply, go to THIS LINK and register 1 person for the event on May 17, whether or not you plan to attend. The next page will be an application form. There is a required box asking who referred you, and there you can say if you are coming or not to the May 17 event. Type in there: “Referred by Karen Kalantzis from Launch Workplaces. I will / will not be attending the session on May 17.” If properly completed, your application will be reviewed next week for consideration by the Angel Venture Forum.
If selected for the Pitch Day, you will be given a time slot on Wednesday, May 24 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 10 AM. There will be a networking and practice time in the Media Room with the other people chosen to present, so plan to be there the entire time.
If you want to apply and you cannot attend the Pitch Day, go ahead and complete the application and indicate you cannot attend but still wish to be considered. This will at least get you on the Angel Venture Forum radar and they might find another day for you.
