Jalin Lyons is the founder of Never Stagnant Training LLC, a personal training and injury prevention practice based at Launch Bethesda. A Salisbury University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Jalin spent more than 500 hours working with six sports teams at the University of Maryland as an assistant strength and conditioning coach before becoming a Personal Training Director. Today, his work centers on injury prevention, helping clients elevate their performance and quality of life through structured training phases built around the demands of sport and daily living.
His path to Launch started with a simple observation: working in the area, Jalin frequently passed an underutilized fitness center and saw an opportunity to transform it into a space that could better support the health and wellness of the community. That mindset, spotting the opening and refusing to stand still, is baked right into his business name.

We asked Jalin to share some of the lessons, habits, and insights that shape how he works.
What is the best lesson you’ve learned as a professional or as an entrepreneur?
Life will test you with highs and lows, but growth comes from refusing to stand still. Keep pushing forward. Never stay stagnant.
What’s the best bit of wisdom to offer to up-and-coming entrepreneurs and professionals?
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Seek to understand before trying to be understood.
What piece of advice would you give to people chasing their dream?
Nobody is coming to explain the game to you. You will have to figure it out.
What’s your favorite book?
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
What’s your favorite Instagram account?
@wristenthusiasts and @synermuscle.
What’s one newsletter worth subscribing to and why?
Healthline, specifically the nutrition section. There’s always new information about food that can benefit the way you approach your meals throughout the day.
What’s your morning routine, and why do you choose to start your day this way?
Every morning, I start my day with two to three stretches and roll the bottoms of my feet with a tennis ball. Getting the blood flowing first thing in the morning helps improve circulation, reduce stiffness, and gives me the energy boost I need to take on the day.
What’s your evening wind-down routine?
Playing video games helps me relax after a long day, specifically Forza, because I like modifying cars. It really eases the mind.
What’s your favorite quick hack to improve focus?
Taking a mental break and resting.
What’s one dish that everyone should try?
The Reuben sandwich from Katz’s Delicatessen in New York. They make the best ones.
What’s one thing you do for your health every day?
Eating throughout the day. The schedule can get busy quick, and proper time management helps with doing that.
What’s your quick tip for making meetings more fun, engaging, or productive?
Make them more engaging to help take in information better and have a good time doing it.
What’s your favorite way to take a break from screentime?
Going to the gym and walking my dog.
