ABOUT THE EVENT
Maryland small businesses (including startups) have a range of options for health insurance. Furthermore, businesses may be eligible for Maryland’s Small Business Health Care Tax Credit. This presentation will cover requirements for eligibility for the health care tax credit and various plan options for small businesses through Maryland’s SHOP (small business health options program) and insurance companies outside of Maryland Health Connection. This includes carriers, metal levels, deductibles, out-of-pockets maximums, co-pays, HMO / DHMO / PPO / POS / EPO and more. Furthermore, you’ll learn about important regulations, H.S.A.s, premium determination, insurance discounts, dental coverage, open enrollment, family coverage, billing, signup, and more. There will also be ample time for questions and answers.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
David DiPaola is CEO of Sensibly, a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®), and an insurance broker in Maryland. Concerned about the growing chronic health crisis globally, David wanted to use his skills to address the problem focusing on prevention and reversal rather than treatment. He helps small businesses and corporations obtain accident, health and life insurance and develop performance and wellness programs to help employees thrive. David is also Managing Director for DiPaola Consulting focused on medical sensing and formerly held positions as VP of Global R&D for TT Electronics PLC (leading international teams in Asia, Europe and US) and engineering manager and technical staff at Texas Instruments and Sensata Technologies.
