What would Launch Workplaces be without our unique and professional members? Our Member Spotlight Series allows us to highlight one member of our amazing community each month and communicate what makes Launch Workplaces such an inspiring place to work!
This month, we are pleased to highlight Evan Hacker of OH Partners CPA.
What is the mission of OH Partners CPA?
“The mission of OH Partners is to provide the best accounting, bookkeeping, tax and compliance services to small and middle market businesses as well as business owners.”
Please give us some insight on your position.
“We are well placed in the Montgomery County market to access a strong entrepreneurial pool, as well as established businesses that are seeking the best value in attaining the expertise they need.”
What do you love about your job?
“What we love about our job is the impact we have on each client as we help them better understand their business as well as helping them attain their goals.”
Is there anything exciting happening with OH Partners CPA at the moment?
“We are growing, and Launch Workplaces has been instrumental in that growth – it’s a professional environment with lots of entrepreneurs, so we exchange ideas almost on a daily basis.”
Do you have any advice to young people that may be filing their taxes for the first time or starting a business?
“It is exciting to prepare your return – and it might be easy to use plain tax preparer – I would advise a first-time business owner to research the accounting relationship they need. A CPA doesn’t just prepare takes, but also does tax planning and provides business advice – those two items are more valuable than the fee you pay.”
What brought you to Launch Workplaces?
“I had two recommendations – the first was the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce – second was Geoff Mason, who we met through a mutual friend.”
Do you have any tips for the members of Launch Workplaces (small businesses) about your line of work?
“If you are a small business, consider incorporating that business – the second – keep all your business transactions documented.”
What are some of your interests and hobbies?
“During tax season, there are no hobbies.”
What is something we may not know about you?
“OH Partners started at Kogod Business School when we had begun brainstorming string business. Fidelis and I completed our Masters in Taxation in December 2014 and started a business were just the next major project that followed.”
What are you most excited for in the future?
“We love what we do, and we enjoy working with our clients. We are excited about our growth.”
