“Launch into Good Works” Community Service Program Kicks Off at Launch Workplaces
At Launch Workplaces, we not only pride ourselves on our members’ business success, but we also pride ourselves on our community involvement and giving back. Launch members have donated generously over the years to our various food and toy drives, and now we are pleased to announce we are taking community service up a level with a new program, “Launch into Good Works.”
Directed by the Launch Workplaces Community Service Committee, featuring members Vendor Centric, DRD Creative, Ideal Protein by Dr. Zumbado, Insightin Digital, and Sherman Wealth Management, we are volunteering to take turns managing quarterly projects in which all Launch members can participate during business hours. The purpose is to give back to our local community while developing stronger bonds within our teams and workspace. Whether people have 30 minutes or two hours to spare, we hope all members will participate in these valuable projects!
Our first event will take place on Friday, June 29 from 10 AM to 2 PM in the Gaithersburg location of Launch Workplaces. Tom Rogers, CEO of Vendor Centric has selected the community project for the quarter. We will be supporting the charity Only Make Believe. Only Make Believe is based in Washington DC and brings joy to sick children in local hospitals by providing entertaining children’s shows. We will be making hats for the children to wear as costumes!
Since most of us are not creative enough to turn a hat into a fish, Vendor Centric has teamed with fellow Launch member DRD Creative to develop some fun designs. Our role during the project will be to cut out the pattern pieces and glue them on the hats – should be easy enough! All the materials will be provided at the event, along with snacks to give us energy.
Studies have shown that companies that give back perform better. We are proud of our members’ commitment to supporting the local community while growing in their service. Interested in helping us out? Here’s how you can participate:
- Plan to join us on June 29 from 10 AM – 2 PM. It doesn’t have to be the whole time slot – one hour will do. RSVP for the event to Paul Schrantz: [email protected]. Be sure to mention what time from 10 AM to 2 PM you are coming by.
- Donate funds for the materials. Please give cash or a check payable to Vendor Centric and drop it by their office number 237 in Gaithersburg by June 22. The money will be used to purchase hats, felt, fabric markers, etc. Any leftover funds will be donated straight to the organization. A minimum of $20 would be helpful, but any amount is welcome. Special thank you to The Brick Companies Foundation for a generous contribution.
- Show up on June 29 and expect to have fun while doing good!
