Justine Parker founded JusRédor Collection—a small, women-owned, black-owned, Maryland-based business—to provide go-getters with Sustainable Bamboo Athleisure that’s better for their skin and better for the environment.
Since then, the brand’s collection has been featured at New York Fashion Week and Sustainable Fashion Week.
We asked Justine eleven questions about business and life. Here are the insights she shared with us.
What is the best lesson you’ve learned as an entrepreneur?
Balance is everything—finding a balance in your health, work, relationships, and overall life is essential. Also, you must spend money to make money, and you lose a lot on your journey to success, but you also gain so much more.
What is the most vital realization you’ve had since being in business?
Success does not happen overnight, and it takes a lot of willpower to be an entrepreneur. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
What wisdom would you offer to up-and-coming entrepreneurs or professionals?
Balance is everything. Finding a balance in your health, work, relationships, and overall life is essential to be successful.
What is the best advice you’ve been given, personally or professionally?
Live in the moment. Don’t skip the good part. Go through the process. Labor with your heart. Pray harder and louder. Then one day, you will be thankful not only for the victory but also for the journey.
What is your favorite book?
Feeding the Soul by Tabitha Brown.
What is your favorite Instagram account?
@noodlesthepooch. It always gives me some good laughs.
What is one newsletter worth subscribing to?
Of course, our newsletter – JusRédor Collection. Learn about Sustainable Bamboo Fashion and how it is helping our environment and can help improve your skin.
What does your morning routine look like?
My morning routine consists of a good devotional book to start my day with gratitude and stillness. Following that, a side of herbal tea and a delicious fresh fruit of an apple, pear, pineapple, or fruit smoothie. Recharging my body, feeding the soul, and energizing me for the day.
What is one thing you do for your health every day?
There are a few things.
First, I give thanks to the Almighty, and I repeat affirmations that I am strong, I am abundant, I can manifest anything I put my mind to, I am healthy, and I am wealthy
I make sure I nourish my temple with the minerals I need (B-12, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Iron, Vitamin D, etc.) and release any tension through movement.
Daily walks on the Capital Crescent Trail or taking dance classes are where I feel at most peace.
What is your favorite way to take a break from screen time?
Break time from screen time is hard because I am guilty of closing the computer down but jumping right back on my phone: Ultimately, dancing, and other active activities.
How did you come to work at Launch?
I came across Launch Bethesda during my search for coworking spaces near me and it has been such a life changer. It has made my life ten times easier and my business more credible.
As a small business owner just starting out, customers and potential customers look to see if you have a reliable business address vs. a PO Box. This service has been an extreme help, from the mailing address to the office space usage.
Bria has also been such a tremendous help—it’s always so pleasant working with her—and the Launch community is just so great.
