Two entrepreneurial-minded friends, Doug Nguyen and Michael Turmur, have teamed together to start a new venture and they are busy creating a home at Launch Workplaces in Tysons, VA. Their soon-to-be-announced mobile app will play in the up and coming gig economy. “We chose Launch because it was the best bet at the time, we checked a few places but Launch seemed to be the fittest place for us. And so far it’s been great. We feel comfortable developing our businesses here,” says Doug.
Doug and Michael are no strangers to startups, both having started and sold businesses prior to coming together when they discovered their shared passions for software development and business. Doug has experience in the exporting business at Exportechs and Michael has experience in innovative communications with Pico Greetings. Michael is also working on a separate business plan in the decidedly non-tech rag trade with a high-end bomber jacket. Coffee, late nights and weekends are fueling these two entrepreneurs.
The pair may be young, but they have plenty of advice to give other entrepreneurs. When asked what business book influenced them, both energetically answered with Rich Dad Poor Dad, a 1997 book written by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. They also highly recommend The Innovator’s Dilemma by Clayton Christensen and Simon Sinek’s TED Talk, “Start with Why.”
Launch Workplaces is excited to welcome them to our community. We are looking forward to seeing what these two create!
