For Chris Hall, Creative Director at Invision Media Company, it’s been a long journey growing his business into what it is today: a creative agency focused on creating conversions through innovative approaches to video marketing.
“I pretty much constantly had a camera in my hand starting at age 14,” explains Chris. “I always enjoyed being behind the camera. I always loved the creative process.”
It took a lot of realizing what he didn’t want to do before he realized what he did want to do.
He elaborates, “I did a lot of jobs and roles but none really touched on my passion for being behind the lens. So, I decided I was going to do it on my own.”
Starting Down the Path to Entrepreneurship
Equipped with his passion for the camera, some equipment, and the drive to succeed, Chris started his business in 2014.
“We were a video production company, first and foremost,” says Chris. “I started off with weddings and I did that while working another job.”
But it wasn’t long before Invision Media Company took on a life of its own and became something much bigger. That’s when Chris left his job and went full-time with his business.
“It was a quick process,” Chris admits. “In 2016, we brought in our first production client. Since then, we’ve just been building and building and meeting a lot of great businesses. Today, we’re a five-person team working to meet our clients’ goals.”
Helping Clients Multiply Their ROI Using Video Marketing
At the core of everything Invision Media Company does is its passion for figuring out how to solve client challenges in a creative way.
“One of the biggest things we can do is help businesses to convert and retain customers through video marketing,” explains Chris. “Our priority is to increase revenue for our clients. The goal is to help them double or triple their ROI.”
To achieve these goals, Chris harnesses the expertise of his team on behalf of his clients.
He explains, “We’re not just making videos. We’re creating strategies that encompass everything from development to distribution so that our clients can ultimately bring in more clients. And that’s why our clients always come back. We’re heavily involved in being a strategic partner for them.”
Finding Ways to Help Small Businesses Succeed
Invision Media Company has found great success in the medical and automotive industries. But its passion also expands beyond those fields, with a goal of helping small businesses of all kinds to succeed.
Chris elaborates, “Intrinsically, what we’ve really enjoyed is working with small businesses in general. As a small business ourselves, we’re able to see similar problems to the ones they’re experiencing and then structure campaigns in a way that will meet their goals.”
Seeking Out a Professional Workspace for the Invision Team
Chris eventually realized that working from home wasn’t for him. That’s how he ended up at Launch Workplaces.
“I sincerely envy people who are super productive at home,” says Chris. “But I’m not one of them. I realized that, when I’m working in an office setting, my productivity goes up a lot higher, especially when I’m bringing in other people.”
What started as a coworking desk eventually evolved into the need for more.
“I knew I’d eventually need more than just a desk,” Chris explains. “I just didn’t know when or how. I put it off for a long time but then the COVID-19 pandemic happened and being in an open area stopped being an option. It was a no-brainer that I needed my own space, but I also still needed to be at the office.”
What Chris has found most beneficial about being at Launch is the professional community that surrounded him.
“I absolutely love the people here,” Chris shares. “The people who work here are fantastic, they’ve made the experience that much better. Being around like-minded individuals – an entire building full of people who are working towards their goals – is inspiring. Being here in general has motivated the team and we’ve gotten a productivity boost.”
Adapting Invision Media Company to Overcome the Pandemic
Going forward, Chris and his team are making strides towards pivoting their business model to thrive during COVID-19 and beyond.
“Very recently, we pivoted a lot of our offerings to include live stream services,” says Chris. “We invested pretty heavily in June and July into acquiring broadcast and live streaming technology so that we can provide those services to businesses in need.”
This is something he believes will be extremely important for small businesses going forward.
He explains, “Small businesses can really capitalize on this opportunity. The world is moving towards digital interactions with businesses which means live streaming is going to be a great way for people to interact with companies. It’s also a great way for businesses to speak to customers directly and immediately.”
